A few bands performing for the Livestock Boston series: Streight Angular, Eli 'Paperboy' Reed, Lenkadu, and TonyBear<\/p><\/div>\n

Yep, big doings tonight for the local Boston music scene. Predictably, I’ll be working. But you<\/em> should definitely get out tonight. Don’t get bummed if you don’t have tickets for the sold out Deer Tick guys<\/a>; there’s other noteworthy stuff going on – a brand new club’s opening night (with live music – and FREE admission!), and a bunch of local bands playing for a worthwhile charity. <\/p>\n

Brighton Music Hall<\/a> (formerly Harpers Ferry) has its grand opening tonight. There will be live music, though they’re keeping the lid on just who’s playing, so I’m guessing there will be some nice surprises. Free admission, so join them in the celebration. With Boston’s Agent Bishop<\/a> booking the local shows and local bands as opening acts, it looks like this will be a very cool new venue. The Phoenix discussed their plans<\/a> in yesterday’s issue.<\/p>\n

Then there’s something I just found out about this morning – Livestock Boston<\/a> – a concert series benefiting Heifer International<\/a>. This runs for four weeks, and it’s a really wonderful charity, so give them your support and check out a bunch of cool bands. Here’s what they have planned:<\/p>\n
