John and Josh Pritchard<\/p><\/div>\n

Boston-based Ruin\/Renewal<\/a> released their debut EP just last year, and the first single, “Proverbs,” was named by Boston Emissions as “Favorite New Local Song” for the week of December 3. Two other tracks were lauded by WMBR’s “Pipeline!” show. A mix of acoustic and electric with low, breathy vocals, their music is moody and atmospheric, swelling up and then receding into quieter passages. They just released their second EP, Chess Club<\/a> (on Burst & Bloom Records<\/a>), and are working on their full-length debut album, to be titled “Unknown You,” due out in October.<\/p>\n
