Continuing the theme of really great L.A. bands to pass through Boston this Spring, Everest will be performing along with Seattle’s Minus The Bear Wednesday night at the Wilbur Theatre, just ahead of the release of their second album, On Approach.

Everest I’ve mentioned before here; they have a warm, rootsy/alt-country sound, and have toured with Wilco and Neil Young. They have new album due out May 11, On Approach, which is being released on Warner Brothers/Vapor Records. Their debut, back in 2008, was Ghost Notes.

Seattle’s Minus The Bear also has an imminent new album (May 4th) – OMNI (Dangerbird Records). They have a richly complex guitar and synth sound, at times experimental, with a lot going on. Check out the video for “Knights”, directed by Keith Schofield:
